SNAGGING INSPECTION
When buying a new home, it is your developer's responsibility to check and fix any cosmetic defects before you complete on the sale but it is often unlikely they will pick up on everything.
Newly-built properties are known for minor defects or “snags” caused by poor workmanship, wrong materials being used, standards not adhered to or just taking shortcuts during the build.
If you spot any defects in your home, it is up to you to itemise and report them to your developer. You can put together your own list, however appointing a Chartered building surveyor to provide a comprehensive report will undoubtedly carry more weight.
We can undertake a careful inspection of a new building and prepare a snagging schedule listing any defects, incomplete works and cosmetic problems which the developer may be required to put right. We can also monitor the works in remedying the snags.
